Barry Kaplan and Joel Myers Join Woodcock Washburn's Atlanta Office

Woodcock Washburn is pleased to announce that Barry Kaplan and Joel Myers have joined the firm as partners. They will be located in the firm's Atlanta office.

Barry joins Woodcock Washburn from Kaplan Ward & Patel, LLC, f/k/a Myers & Kaplan Intellectual Property Law, LLC, where he was a founding partner. As a registered U.S. patent attorney, Barry's legal work encompasses all areas of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, and copyright cases. Barry has represented and counseled clients in prosecution, litigation, licensing, management, and disposition of intellectual property assets across a wide range of industries. In addition, he has represented clients in appeals before the U.S. Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences and in matters before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Prior to his legal career, Barry worked as a mechanical engineer.

Joel joins the firm from his private practice, Myers IP Law, LLC. Prior to starting his private practice, Joel was a founding partner at Myers & Kaplan Intellectual Property Law, LLC. Joel is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney with more than ten years experience protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights. In his career, Joel has prepared and/or filed hundreds of patents and trademarks in a multitude of technical areas, and litigated multiple intellectual property issues, including patent, copyright, and trademark infringement, trade secret, and non-compete violations.

In addition, the Arts Center Marta Station is located approximately one block from 1180 Peachtree, at the intersection of West Peachtree Street and 15th Street.
